you have the right idea, but it doesn;t work like that. Although mileage plays a part of the engine's condition, the best check is to do a compression test and a leakdown test...

between these two, good results will tell you whether or not to f/i it... i.e. the condition of your rings... those are usually the first thing that takes a big hit under boost. Other things such as the oil pressure at idle and at various RPMs to give an idea on your oil pump's condition... and timing belt ... and the history on the car, frequent oil changes and such...

    good luck,
    Greg-

    Question

I have a friend who wants to turbo his 95 GSR.

The question is, the car has about 70k on it. Is it too high of mileage to go turbo? He is planning to go 6-7 psi on stock bottom end. Will the GSR bottom end hold the boost without going BOOM, even with a 70k mark?

If not, what's the minimum bottom end buildup that you will recommand? I guess at least better pistons and rods?

    Thanks a lot.
